Hello! Here's a third Pokemon in my series - Hatenna! This one wasn't hard per se but there were definitely a lot more moving parts than my last two. One of the side swoops of hair ended up noticeably bigger than the other but overall I'm still really happy with how she turned out! Again, please don't reproduce or sell my pattern without my permission and please tag me or comment here if you do end up making it, I'd love to see! Also I do have affiliate links at the beginning to link you guys to the materials I used to construct this baby.

Swirly Pieces of Hair x2

Start by making a MR, this one is a little complicated as it is made to expand the crochet size slowly but surely.
This is less in continuous rounds and more just keep crocheting.
Start by putting 2 sc, 2 hdc and 8 dc into the MR, then pull it tight.
Crochet 2 DC in each of the next 4 stitches (adding 8 DC).
Crochet 2 TR (triple crochet) in each of the next 6 stitches (adding 12 TR)
Finish off by crocheting 2 DTR (double triple crochet) into the next 4 stitches (adding 8 DTR)
Leave end for sewing and finish off.
To do the other one, you can either crochet it the exact same way you did it in the first one and flip it over, although that means one will be "right" side up and the other will be "wrong" side up, or you can crochet it inversely if that makes sense. Instead of poking your crochet hook into the next crochet, you poke it out of the next crochet. If that's unclear at all (it almost definitely is), I can definitely post pictures later!
Feet x2
Everything is done in SC (single crochet) for the feet.
Row 1 : MR 7 [7]
Row 2 : inc around [14]
Row 3 : sc, inc repeating around [21]
Rows 4-6 : sc around [21]
Row 7 : sc, dec repeating around [14]
Row 8 : dec around [7]
Finish off and leave ends for sewing. Stuff the feet firmly.
And voila! You just have to sew all the pieces together, embroider on a smile, and you are finished with your very own lovely Hatenna. I like to pin everything in place, especially for this one, to make sure I like the look of everything before I commit to placement.
